Hello There!

Welcome to my blog!

My name is Suzy and this blog is all about me.

I am a 40 year old married woman who wants to get the most out of life while I am here.

I'm such a big music enthusiast that I have a music blog called Suzy's Musical World where I review music, gigs, festivals and generally post about the music I love with my 5 writers Andy, Luna, Banita, Annabel and Glenn.

My Story

The 4 main things that are important to me are my family, my friends, music and travel. So they are going to be the main things that you hear about on this blog.

I have been married to Sean for 15 years this year and we have been together for 24 years, since we were both 16 years old. We don't have children but we do have a Shih Tzu Chinese Crested cross dog named Sunny, a Maine Coon cat called Lilith and 2 musk turtles called Tommi and Ozzy.

Sean is a musician so when he is in a band, he has me as his roadie at gigs and photographer/videographer. He mainly plays the bass guitar but he can play most instruments that he picks up, he was even in the Kent Youth Orchestra playing the trumpet when he was in school lol. He is super musically talented.

I grew up on toe tapping country music, screamed at The Backstreet Boys in my pop phase and then landed feet first into heavy metal and rock music. Although I listen to heavier music than I used to, I still listen to country and pop music, in fact, I'm seeing Five on their reunion tour in October.

From 2018 to 2022, I ran a travel blog called Suzy The Explorer, which I turned into Suzy's Musical World. Music had taken on a whole new meaning in my life and I wanted to make it a much more important part of my life by sharing the music that I love with people from all around the world. But then I started to miss writing about the restaurants that I went to, the hotels I stayed in, the places that I got to explore, and at the beginning of 2025, I started All Things Suzy.

2 bands that I owe a lot to are Blind Channel and Lost Zone, without them, I wouldn't be who I am right now. Their music came into my life when I needed it the most and because of them I have done things that I never thought I would. Because of Blind Channel, I learnt to push myself to drive long distances for the music I love and that it's ok to be me. Because of Lost Zone, their music moved me so much that they helped me find the courage to go abroad on my own, to a country where I didn't know the language, all to see them live.

I'm a massive horror film fan, I feel that music is the finishing touch to any film, you need the right music to set the mood of the scene. It's all about building an atmosphere to intensify the feeling of the scene. For many years, I would make a yearly trip to London for FrightFest which is a horror film festival where a lot of new films would have their UK or World premier and a lot of the time, the director, actors and crew would be there so we could speak to them about the films. I met a lot of tv and film heros at that festival.

I love all things Harry Potter, I've been to Warner Studios in London 12 times now and luckily enough, it was different each time with the changing themes and added attractions.

I live near Maidstone in Kent in the South East of England, it's just 40 miles outside of London so it's quite easy to get to London and Brighton for gigs but I have no problem with driving further for gigs. In fact, the furthest I have driven to a gig is Glasgow in Scotland.

So that's me, I hope to see you at a gig soon xx
